Mechanical Engineering

Ewurama is currently a senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering. She is looking forward to being in the Mechatronics concentration in her final year at UW, which will help her decide on her focus for graduate schools. She is an undergraduate researcher for the Polymer Optics Lab under the Mechanical Engineering Department working on the manufacturing of fiber optics. In Summer 2018, Ewurama was part of the TANMS (Nanosystems ERC for Translational Applications of Nanoscale Multiferroic Systems) REU program at the University of California, Los Angeles. She spent prior summers working as a Boeing intern in the 737 Product and Technical Integration team and then the 737 Flight Controls team down in Renton. In the last three years, Ewurama tutors the calculus series for the STARS (Washington State Academic Redshirt) program. Outside of lasses, she has been part of the Ghana dance group through the UW’s African Student Association and performed for the third year in a row at the annual event, Afro-Caribbean Night.
