Jesse Loi

Philosophy / Mathematics

Jesse is a junior majoring in philosophy and mathematics. He plans to focus his study on the works of Immanuel Kant (unless further reading convinces him otherwise), but also is interested in applied ethics and philosophy of mind. He’s currently hoping to write “something good.” Although mathematics might not appear too much in his research, Jesse continues using his mathematical skills as a tutor for Urban Impact at Franklin High School. He also serves as the Secretary of the UW Philosophy Society. Through his work in philosophy, he’d like to inspire a few interesting thoughts in the next generation through work in academia, which does not entail corrupting the youth, and maybe to write “some good stuff.” If not, he can always pursue his guilty pleasure of teaching math at a high school. In his free time, Jesse enjoys running and the occasional trading card game.
