This is a strong acute care experience with a largely indigent and medically needy patient population. You will learn the management of diseases unique to this population with a strong emphasis on psychosocial issues. Occasionally, there will be the opportunity to visit homeless shelters to witness the living conditions and gain perspective regarding the reality of patient compliance to treatment plans.
