Tuesday afternoons


This is a clinic where all levels of residents can get patient contact with bread and butter Gynecology issues. The patients are all AMC patients, with an established PCP. The patients are referred to Dr. Burke for gynecological questions/issues, as well as procedures, including Pap smear, biopsies (endometrial and punch), IUD placement, etc.


  • Understand basic women’s health topics listed below
  • Proficiency performing routine breast, PAP and pelvic examinations
  • Experience performing endometrial boipsies
  • Residents should gain knowledge and skills in the following areas of gynecology:
    1. Gynecologic history and pelvic examination
    2. Evaluation and management of patients with common gynecologic issues:
      • Abnormal pap smear
      • Amenorrhea and hirsutism
      • Breast disease
      • Contraception
      • Dyspareunia
      • Fibroids
      • Gynecologic malignancies
      • Infertility
      • Menopause (including osteoporosis screening)
      • PCO
      • Pelvic mass
      • Pelvic pain and endometriosis
      • Preconception care
      • Premenstrual syndrome
      • Sexually Transmitted Infections
      • Urinary incontinence and pelvic relaxation
      • Vaginal bleeding (pregnant and nonpregnant)
      • Vaginitis
