The Medicine Operative Consult Clinic provides comprehensive preoperative medicine consultations to patients undergoing surgery at Harborview Medical Center. Residents working in this clinic work directly with medicine consult attendings to provide risk assessment and recommendations for risk reduction. This experience is designed to familiarize residents with the preoperative medicine risk assessment to prepare you for such evaluations you will encounter as a senior resident, as well as a primary care or subspecialty physician when asked to consult in the preoperative period.
