Educational Goals and Objectives
Our aim is to educate residents about pathogenisis, pathophysiology, work-up and management of hypertension by focusing on difficult to control primary and secondary hypertension within the context of other complex medical, social, emotional and financial factors. The management is based on lifestyle modifications and appropriate choice of medications based on hemodynamics, underlying condition and co-morbidities. A large number of our patients have secondary hypertension thus residents learn about workup and management of these conditions.
