Dr. Kenagy's research interests include: molecular evolution and the application of molecular biology to research in evolution, ecology, conservation, population biology, ecophysiology, and animal behavior. One of his special projects is called Biology of Mammals, a museum-based research program on historical biogeography of mammals in western North America, including Mexico.
