After you have submitted your application, you can check the status of your application on your Graduate Application Status Page. You get to this page by logging in as a Returning Applicant.

The Museology Program conducts a comprehensive review of each application. The Admissions Committee is composed of members of the Museology staff, Interdisciplinary Faculty Group and Instructors. This review can take several months.

Once an admissions decision has been made, you can expect:

  • Notification of the committee’s decision by email to the address listed on your application. The decision will also be reflected on your Graduate Application Status Page.
  • If you are offered admission, you will be instructed to accept or decline the offer of admission on your Graduate Application Status Page.
  • If you decline an offer of admission, you will be asked to complete a short survey on your Graduate Application Status Page.
  • If you accept our offer of admission, the following next steps will appear on your Graduate Application Status Page:

Official Transcripts An official transcript from your degree-granting institution is required by the Graduate School for verification. Please note that this transcript is required in addition to the official transcripts you submitted to the Museology Program for review and should list your official degree. If you were accepted to the Museology Program prior to receiving your degree, please request your official transcript after you have graduated.

NetID Setup UW NetID stands for University of Washington Network Identification. Your UW NetID and password are your account for accessing your UW information and other online services. Your status page will include your student number and Personal Access Code, which are required to set up your NetID.

Confirmation Deposit In addition to indicating your intent to enroll through your Status Page, students are required to submit an enrollment confirmation deposit of $250. This deposit will be recorded as a tuition credit and will be applied to your fees for fall quarter.  An Enrollment Confirmation Deposit Form, with instructions, will be sent by the Museology Program to the “local address” listed on your application within a week of indicating your intent to enroll. Immunization Requirements Before enrolling as a student at the University of Washington, you may be required to submit proof of your Measles, Mumps, and Rubella immunization.

International Applicants If you are an international applicant, instructions for requesting an I-20 or DS-2019 visa application and English proficiency requirements (if applicable) will be provided in the Application Status Page.
