Recommendation: The faculty recommends that a minor cognate consist of approved 300 level and above courses outside of the school of music in areas such as curriculum and instruction, educational psychology, sociology, anthropology, psychology, philosophy and special education (max. 9 credits). A student may also take further 400 and above coursework within music if desired.
