Spring Quarter Begins

Spring quarter has been in session for about three weeks now, and the battalion has been as busy as ever. On Saturday, April 13th, the Husky Battalion had it's first ever Barks and Recreation Day. This event was successful thanks to the hard work and planning of the Gold Department. Some highlights of the day were the performance of the Regulation Drill team at Red Square and the Students vs. Staff volleyball game. The Reg. Drill Team continued the nearly 90+ year tradition of close-order drill at the University of Washington.

On Wednesday, we received word that Northwest Navy this year would be cancelled due to budget cuts. A local event will take the place of NWN, on April 13th, to showcase the hard work and talent of the many teams the Husky Battalion has been preparing.

Northwest Navy team practices are in full swing now and the Winter quarter at the University of Washington is well underway. This week, the Husky Battalion can look forward to a presentation by a representative from the Navy Federal Credit Union during drill on Tuesday morning. Some classes already have midterms starting this week as well. Study hard now Husky Battalion, so that we can reap the benefits later. "Whatever your life's work is, do it well. A man should do his job so well that the living, the dead, and the unborn could do it no better." -Martin Luther King Jr.
