      <description>MAY 21, 2008 AN INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. Health Sciences Building, room T-466K Dr. Thomas Gething, Office of Postdoctoral Affairs&lt;br/&gt;“Individual Development Plans” may be viewed as a prequel for an autobiography. This workshop will introduce a small group of postdocs to the concept of an IDP.       <description>APRIL 2, 2008 Career symposium for graduate students and postdocs 3:30 - 7:30 p.m. HUB Room 108 The Graduate School and the UW Career Center are pleased to present the fourth annual Career Development Symposium for Graduate Students and Postdocs.  This event is designed to be an opportunity for graduate students and postdocs to learn what other graduate students have done and to think about how to make career choices.&lt;br/&gt;In addition, it will provide faculty and staff  an opportunity to gain information that will be useful in mentoring graduate students who are making decisions about their career paths.&lt;br/&gt;	•	Learn what careers successful graduate-level alumni have chosen&lt;br/&gt;	•	Think about how to make career choices&lt;br/&gt;	•	Learn how others have coped with the challenges they face in their chosen career&lt;br/&gt;Panels include :&lt;br/&gt;	•	Internationalization of graduate careers&lt;br/&gt;	•	Corporate and small business&lt;br/&gt;	•	Non-profit and government&lt;br/&gt;	•	Consulting and self-employment&lt;br/&gt;There is no registration required for the symposium.  &lt;br/&gt;There will be a Networking Social event from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in HUB room 108 (hosted in conjunction with the UW Alumni Association).   &lt;a href=&quot;https://go.washington.edu/uwaa/events/200804graduate_networking/details.tcl&quot;&gt;Registration&lt;/a&gt; is requested.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;The University of Washington is committed to providing access, equal opportunity and reasonable accommodation in its services, programs, activities, education and employment for individuals with disabilities.
