Student credentialing and onboarding for clerkships that rotate through the St. Luke\u2019s Health System are now handled via myClinicalExchange, a web-based platform. The Idaho WWAMI team<\/a> will add the rotation dates to myClinicalExchange, and St. Luke\u2019s Health System team will approve the rotation and review any onboarding documents within that system. Please note St. Luke’s requires students to have health insurance coverage and will only place students who meet this requirement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be a cost to create an account to use the program. You can submit for reimbursement from the GoWWAMI<\/a> team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All scheduling will continue be completed through the UWSOM\u2019s registrar\u2019s office, so you should not be making any changes to or requesting rotations in myClinicalExchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Housing<\/u><\/strong>

Student housing and travel is provided for required and Advanced Patient Care eligible clerkships only. If this clinical clerkship is taken as a required or Advanced Patient Care eligible course, students will be contacted by the Idaho WWAMI<\/a> office. Students are responsible for confirming whether they WILL or WILL NOT need to stay in the WWAMI medical student housing in a timely fashion. Prior to accessing the housing students are required to complete the necessary paperwork and provide a check for damage deposit. If this clinical clerkship is taken as an elective course, students are responsible for arranging their own housing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Schedule<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have an amazing variety of patient admissions and opportunities for peds subspecialty exposure. Mornings are spent in the hospital rounding with the peds team; those afternoons when not on-call, students will spend time in the outpatient clinic or covering the hospital. On-call rotations take place approximately every 5th<\/sup> day until 10:00PM in the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sign-out occurs daily at 6:45AM. Didactics take place from 12:00PM \u2013 12:45PM. Every Wednesday, a half-day conference with the Pediatrics Residency of Idaho takes place from 1:30PM \u2013 5:30PM. Students have weekend days and holidays off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
