Experience<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kaiser Permanente has designed clinical experience to help augment knowledge, sharpen skills and foster professional growth in the medical field. This rotation will focus on normal and abnormal growth and development along with recognition, diagnosis, and treatment of common disorders of infants, children, and adolescents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over 6 weeks, students will spend time with our pediatricians who work as inpatient hospitalists and outpatient primary care physicians for our group. To give a more wholesome pediatric experience, students will also rotate with some of our community subspecialists allowing field exposure to ancillary service partners, developmental assessments with required therapies and care coordination with pediatric specialists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A brief orientation on the first day of the rotation. Daily clerkship schedule and site locations will be distributed on that day.

To maximize pediatric clerkship exposure, students will be expected to be on call with an attending preceptor. You will also have a minimum of 2-3 call weekends. Clinical hours will be shifted to ensure compliance with\u00a0LCME weekly work hour restrictions.

Sacred Heart Children\u2019s Hospital Pediatric Grand Rounds attendance is required. Please contact the administrator of the pediatric schedules for location and time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
