Instructions for reference providers
Thank you for agreeing to provide a reference for the candidate. Your input on the candidates is invaluable to us in our selection process. Your recommendation will remain private, and no one outside of the residency committee will have access to it. You will be notified if the applicant does NOT waive the right to review your recommendation. All data will be removed from this site after the selection process. Here are some important details regarding this process:
- Create an account on this site, be sure to select "Reference provider" when you choose your role. After you have created your account, you will receive an email with a link to login to the site. Please check your "Junk" or "Spam" email folder if you do not see it. Randomly, some reference providers will be contacted to verify their identity. If you have previously used this site, your login should still be active. If you cannot remember your username, you can login with the email address you used to create the account. If you cannot remember your password, simply click on "Request new password" and you will be sent an email with instructions on how to login.
- We require that a formal letter is provided in addition to the online form. You will need to upload this when completing the online form.
- It is best if the applicant has submitted their application before starting, as you can link your recommendation to their application. If they have not yet submitted their application, you can manually type in their name.
- You will not be able to access your recommendation after it is submitted. If you make a mistake, you can submit another, but be sure to contact the site adminstrator to remove the erroneous submission.
- To get started select "Start a new recommendation" in the Reference Providers menu. The Reference Providers menu will not show up until after you have created an account.
- We strongly prefer the online submission of recommendations through this site, as they can be directly linked to the applicant. If you are unable to do this you may email your recommendation letter to us. Please send them to uwrxres@uw.edu, and include the candidate's name in the "Subject" line.
- Hard copies of letters of reference via regular mail are discouraged.
- You can view what recommendations you have submitted by clicking on the "My recommendations" link in the Reference Providers menu.
