PGY2 Pain/Palliative Care Structure

Rotations will be offered at the University of Washington Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. There will also be rotations with external organizations (i.e. hospice) so the resident may participate and learn in a variety of well-established pain and palliative care institutions. Each rotation will be 1 month in duration.

The resident will have longitudinal responsibility in drug distribution (32 hours/month), participation in clinical research with a required project, attendance at residency meetings, participation in the medication safety committee, and other pain and palliative care assignments as necessary. The resident will also participate in a longitudinal pain clinic one half-day a week.
