Welcome to The University of Washington (UW) Department of Neurological Surgery's Diagnostic Laboratory Website. We perform advanced, unique diagnostic studies to detect abnormalities of the cerebral circulation.

We have a national and international reputation for excellence in developing and applying the newest technology in cerebrovascular ultrasound for clinical and research purposes. It is accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories.

Testing is performed at Harborview Medical Center and University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle. Harborview is the only Level I Trauma Center for Wyoming, Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho, so our staff has experience and expertise, especially related to testing patients with head injuries, aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and those at risk for stroke (brain attack) - from cerebrovascular occlusive disease.
