Services
Video teleconferencing services are offered to provide remote access to numerous existing educational programs taking place at the University of Washington School of Medicine (UWSOM). Please see the calendar for programs currently available. Programs may also be developed to meet specific needs. Video teleconferencing services are also available to support administrative meetings between the UWSOM and remote sites. Please contact Cara Towle at 206-744-6920 or at ctowle@u.washington.edu for further information, to access current programming, to offer programming to remotes sites, or to develop new programs.
Teleconferencing Fees
Costs for video teleconferencing sevices are as follows:
Set-up Fees
$100 per conference — This includes setting up a bridge and making contacts with all remote sites prior to conference to coordinate scheduling and perform technical testing, etc.
Usage Fees
$50 per hour — for internal clients (i.e., any UW, Harborview, or SCCA entity)
$120 per hour — for external clients This is to help pay for monthly ISDN line maintenance charges.
Toll Fees
$100 per hour — (about $1.70 per minute) interstate, if the UW must originate a long-distance call (as opposed to having remote sites call in).
Other Technical Services
$75 per hour — for additional technical support services.
Bridge fees: When video teleconferencing between multiple sites, a bridge service will be required. The UW bridge service will charge $50 per conference which will be passed directly to the user. There may be more cost effective pricing for setting up a series of conferences. Telehealth Services has no control over these prices but will apprise you of the anticipated bridge costs prior to the conference.
Remote Site Fees: The site with which you are communicating may have additional fees that would be charged directly to your budget. Telehealth Services has no control over these prices but will try to apprise you of the anticipated remote site costs prior to the conference.
Telepsychiatry
Service
Telepsychiatry consultation services with the University of Washington Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences are available on a contractual basis.
