Calculus with Analytic Geometry I Deadlines
October 10: Requests for help finding a group The Letter
A contract for consultation from the Fortunate Richard Association (adapted from http://www.math.upenn.edu/~ugrad/macmatc/modules/exponential/franklin.html). You will need to read this article from the Philadephia Inquirer to know how the fortunes of Boston and Philadelphia differ. Assignment is due by midnight. Logistics of Group Work
You are to self-select groups of two to three students from all any TQS 124 section. You are to inform me of your groups members (October 14) and make a progress report on your early findings (October 24). The students are often apprehensive about the grading of group projects, but you get to determine the distribution of the points for your group. For example, if your group of three receives 50 on an assignment, then you have a total of 3 x 50 = 150 points to distribute among yourselves. You fill out a form, sign it, and return it to me. For the most part, the students split the points evenly, occassionally they allocate the points differently. Assigning Points to Papers
I use the grading rubric available for you here. I strongly recommend reading Annalisa Crannell's (Franklin & Marshall College) excellent advice about writing mathematics. |
