Long Distance Services
The primary long distance service is provided by the UW Alternative Toll Service (UWATS) system. This system provides detailed call accounting to user departments, and long distance toll savings to the university. The service can be used from on campus or when away from campus, depending on the level of access of the UWATS code.
Another method for those who use a UW telephone, but work in various locations, is to use the Regional Calling Service (RCS).

Service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Rates effective July 1, 2011 for FY2012.
UWATS
There is no installation charge for setting up a UWATS code.
Domestic Long Distance Rates:
- UWATS long distance, U.S., per minute: $.033
- UWATS long distance, Canada, per minute: $.033
- Direct Dial 1+ long distance, U.S., per minute: $.033
- Direct Dial 1+ long distance, Canada: $.033
- Metro UWATS, U.S., per minute: $.033
- UW Direct, U.S., per minute: $.033

Regional Calling Service
There are no charges for Regional Calling Service (RCS); however, UWATS and Calling Card rates apply when used with RCS.
