UW Email

Service Description: 
UW Email is an email service that allows electronic messages to be read and sent with a wide variety of email programs, including Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Mac Mail, Entourage, and Alpine. Web-based access is supported through Web Alpine.

Eligibility: 

UW faculty, UW staff.

How to Order: 

 

Individuals who are eligible for the UW Email service must activate it before use.  Activiation is done via a Web browser at the UW NetID Manage pages:

Availability: 
Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with the exception of irregularly scheduled maintenance. 
Price: 

This service is included in the Technology Recharge Fee. 

A basic limit of 5 GB is included for faculty, staff, and 1 GB for shared accounts.

Additional data storage for this service is available for a fee. To increase your storage limit, go to the Manage Your UW NetID Resources  page, where you can enter a budget number and set the amount. The rate is $0.76 per GB per month. Billing begins July 1, 2011.

The UW Email service for all UW students ended June 30, 2011. All UW students use UW Windows Live or UW Google Apps or a third-party vendor of their choice for email. Please see http://uw.edu/itconnect/email/student_decom.html for details.
