Research

I am currently researching lead release in drinking water systems, studying how different disinfection techniques change the surface morphology and solubility of lead containing materials.

Work Experience

I have 14 years experience working as an environmental chemist and Washington State licensed resource protection well driller, collecting soil and water samples from field sites throughout the Northwest and analyzing them for environmental pollutants.

Interdisciplinary Experience

As an undergraduate I was involved in a large (60 student) interdisciplinary group project which culminated in the development of an environmental report used by the Little Skookum/Totten Resource Committee in development of a Sub-area Plan for the watershed.

Highlights

I visited Cambodia in December 2006 to tour and evaluate a joint water filtration / literacy project undertaken in rural villages by Rotary Club International and Angkor Hospital for Children.
