sarahwidder@gmail.com Major Chemical Engineering, University of Washington Research summary My research is about indoor air quality in rural Sichuan, China. In many places open fires or small wood cookstoves are still used for cooking and heating which can have a detremental effect on indoor air quality and the health of the inhabitants. In this study I investigated air borne consintrations of PM10, PM2.5, Nitrous Oxides, Sulphur Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide, and VOC's in indoor air while the stove was in use and outdoor air as a comparison in both rural and urban environments.
