Research summary
Thermoelectric property of copper doped vanadium pentoxide is my current research interest.
My project is aimed at developing a method to improve the electrical conductivity of V2O5 without changing the Seebeck coefficient. Theoretically, incorporation of Cu into V2O5 can result in the increase of Cu-V-O bond and the V4+ concentration. Enhanced exchange of electrons between V5+ and V4+ can facilitate polaron hopping, resulting in the increase of the electrical conductivity. To achieve this, we have developed a new inorganic sol-gel method to incorporate Cu into V2O5 host materials by making CuxV2O5 gels.
