Information for Researchers
Digital Ventures works with UW researchers
to manage, market, and license University-developed software and information
materials. Licensing for broad dissemination may take three to twelve
months to construct and transact, depending on the internal rights, the
compatibility of business models, the perceived risks and benefits, and
the timing of the opportunity.
For the success of your project, it is important to begin working with Digital
Ventures as soon as possible, especially if you are utilizing any type of grant
money for the project. A Digital Ventures team member can assist and advise
you during every stage of the process, from team organization to rights management,
project marketing, and project income. To begin the process, request
a consultation with Digital Ventures.
The Digital Ventures team can answer questions about technology transfer, help you
evaluate technologies for deployment possibilities, secure intellectual
property, build relationships with industry collaborators and manage revenues.
