Checking Links on Your Site
Checking that the links on your Web site work ensures that your visitors
have full access to all pages and helps your site stay in professional,
working order. You can check for broken links on your site with methods
as simple as clicking each link on the site yourself and verifying that
all images appear. The process can also be automated with software tools.
Some Web authoring programs, such as Macromedia® Dreamweaver®,
have link-checking features. Software and Web tools that check links are
also available, such as W3C's
Link Checker, Xenu's
Link Sleuth, and Netmechanic.
