WinXMorph and WinTensor Licensing Information

WinXMorph is a program for Windows 2000, XP with which realistic still or animated crystal shapes (morphologies) are created from crystallographic data (metric, (hkl) - Miller indices and central distances) as input and *.wrl (VRML V2.0 utf8) files as output, which can be inserted on web pages.

WinTensor is a program for Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT, XP with which representation surfaces are created from crystallographic data (metric, tensor components) as input and several image files as output, including *.wrl (VRML V2.0 utf8) that can be inserted on web pages. Example screenshots include images representing the piezo-optic effect, the optical rotation, the elastic constants and second harmonics in quartz.


Licensing Information


Educator or Academic Researcher Licensing

Individual academic researchers may use WinXMorph or WinTensor for non-profit research use in a single laboratory. It is available via a click-through license which restricts the user to internal research use.

The Educator License is designed to meet the needs of individual teachers in educational institutions for use of WinXMorph by the students in their classes. This is a click-through license that requires an email address to receive software download information.

Commercial Licensing

WinXMorph may be licensed for commercial use for $30.

WinTensor may be licensed for commercial use for $20.

The Commercial License is for single seat commercial users. Site licenses are available by contacting UW TechTransfer Digital Ventures.
