Friedrich Mitterwurzer
Actor, Performer and Writer

The Burgtheater hired Mitterwurzer in 1871. He was acclaimed for his roles as heroes and type casts, e.g. Faust and Mephisto, as well as demon-like characters. From 1879-1884 he was the main director at the Vienna City Theater; in 1884 director of the Carltheater in Vienna; toured to Germany, Holland and America from 1886-1894; and finally returned to the Burgtheater in 1894-1897.
