LOCAL INFORMATION

Transportation & Parking

Metro bus is the least expensive way to access the SPL Central Library. To find out which bus will get you from your starting point to the library, use Metro's Trip Planner.

Driving directions are on the SPL web site.

Parking is available in the Central Library garage, but the garage does not open until 10:00am.  The all-day rate is $22.00.  Other garages in the area will be open earlier and may cost less:

Seattle Olympic Garage (enter on Fifth Avenue and Seneca Street).  $24/day.

Hotel Vintage Park (enter on Fifth Avenue between Seneca and Spring streets).  Open 24 hours; $30/day; valet parking only.

Union Bank of California Center (910 5th) Parking Garage (enter on Madison Street. between Fifth and Fourth avenues).

1001 Fourth Avenue Plaza Parking Garage (enter on Madison Street, between Fourth and Third avenues).

There is also the possibility of parking for free on the east side of the freeway if you are willing to do some hunting and walk a bit.

Accommodations

Hotels in the downtown core can be quite expensive.  Here are two that can be relatively reasonable in price:

Crowne Plaza Hotel

Executive Hotel Pacific

The library is in the Metro ride-free area.  This means that it is easy to access the Central Library from any hotel/motel in or adjacent to the ride-free area.  Here are links to some of those:
