About this Site

Partners in Action is a companion website for the Washington State Nutrition & Physical Activity Plan. The site is a collaborative effort of the Washington State Department of Health, the University of Washington Center for Public Health Nutrition and Partners of the Plan throughout Washington.

Background

During the launch of the Washington State Plan in 2003, partners expressed a strong desire to learn about what others were doing to put the plan in action. To meet this need, the Partners in Action Web site featuring a quarterly newsletter was developed. Since the first issue was published in Spring 2004, more than 850 stakeholders identified themselves as "partners of the plan" and 250 articles about their activities and progress were shared on the Web site.

The 2008 update of the Washington State Nutrition & Physical Activity Plan provided an ideal opportunity to refresh the site's look and content. As you explore the site, you will find many new features including:
