newSpokane County Sets Policy for Active Transportation

The Spokane Regional Transportation Council adopted a policy to ensure that new roadway construction and transportation improvements take pedestrians, bicycle riders and transit users into account. It is the first policy of its kind that covers both the rural and urban regions of the county. more

Planning Allows Aging in Place 

Communities are making policy and environmental changes that will help adults "age in place," allowing people to live in their current homes even as they face mobility challenges associated with growing older. According to a recent study 90% of adults want to age in place, remaining healthy, active and engaged. more
