The international breastfeeding symbol was developed in 2006 to provide an alternative to the baby bottle symbol that is often used to designate nursing rooms in public places. The image is copyright free and is increasingly being posted to identify baby friendly places and to show support for breastfeeding.
The Breastfeeding Coalition of Washington is looking for examples of the symbol's use,
especially in Washington State. If you have used the symbol or have seen it in use,
please email a photograph and information on the location to Rachel Schwartz. Photos may be
included in future issues of the Coalition's newsletter.
