The Teachers for a New Era program, funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York and other foundations, is intended to stimulate the development of exemplary teacher education programs at selected colleges and universities, and to assure the nation that colleges and universities are educating prospective teachers of the highest quality possible. |

Partnership with Ackerly Family Foundation The Ackerley Foundation grant will provide resources to the College of Education and its partner schools in the form of mentors, and on-line support groups and training in adapting new knowledge about how children learn to classroom teaching techniques in an effort to bolster teacher retention and improve student learning. |

Strengthening & Sustaining Teachers Strengthening and Sustaining Teachers is aimed at building and describing teacher-development systems (including three necessary partners: school districts, unions, and universities) to collaborate on the redesign of teacher preparation, new-teacher induction, and ongoing professional development, and to create strong, connective tissue between and among these component parts. |

Teachers Learning in Networked Communities TLINC has designed the UWeb Teacher Support Network to support novice teachers. On Demand Information is open to anyone and provides access to specific resources for teachers in their early careers. Tapped In is a platform that encourages virtual learning communities of teachers and helps connect the UW TEP graduates and/or Partner Schools to each other and with UW faculty. |
