Research
The first principle for the Teachers for a New Era initiative states that decisions should be driven by evidence. Evidence should be research based and include the role of pupil learning. TNE leaders insist that improvement of pupil learning requires improving teacher learning. Therefore, research on teacher preparation is essential in guiding renewal efforts.
The Washington Center for Teaching and Learning brokers research projects and makes available research on teacher preparation and pupil learning outcomes.
