Resources for Educators at the UW

The University of Washington offers a variety of professional development opportunities for educators through the College of Education and other UW academic units. These include degree programs, professional certification, endorsements, evening and online learning courses, summer institutes and workshops.

Workshops and Institutes: Workshop series, summer institutes and special events for educators by content area. For a complete list, click here.

Master’s Programs: Programs in Curriculum & Instruction, Instructional Leadership, and Special Education offer opportunities for educators to gain additional skills and knowledge.

Undergraduate Programs: A Minor in Education is being developed with a projected launch in January, 2006. For more information, download a pdf.

Certification: Add a Professional Certificate or National Board Certification to your resume.

Programs for School Leaders: The College of Education offers several programs to develop the leadership skills of educators.

Endorsements: Add an endorsement to your teaching certificate.

Education Courses: Evening classes are offered by the College of Education on a space-available basis. Other classes are also available through the UW Extension, Summer Quarter, Online Learning, and Non-Degree Enrollment.
