Welcome to The Washington Institute for Mental Health Research and Training (WIMHRT). Since 1989, WIMHRT has provided an independent source of applied research and evaluation, and professional training in the fields of mental health and substance abuse within Washington State. Our training and research office is located on the campus of Western State Hospital in Tacoma, WA (Lakewood), with our administrative headquarters located in Seattle, WA at the Division of Public Behavioral Health and Justice Policy at the University of Washington.

Peer Support Exam
Schedule (2013)
If you have completed the Washington State 40-hour Certified Peer
Counselor training, you may take the certification exam on one of the
following dates:
*There will be two test sessions on each date, one starting at 9:00 am and one at 11:00 am.

Please email Aubre Lawless at alawless@uw.edu to sign up for the test. Make sure you indicate which time you would prefer. You should plan to be at the testing site for up to three hours.
Additional test dates will be scheduled later in the year.
The
next Spanish-language
training will be held in September, location to be determined.
