Kim is a 31 year old Caucasian female with Major Depression. She has a history of heavy alcohol abuse and has been in inpatient chemical dependency treatment programs. Her family of origin has a long history of mental illness and chemical dependency on both sides. She is currently in a co-dependent relationship with an abusive boyfriend. Kim's mother tries to support her, but is regularly involved in heavy alcohol use. Kim is on the verge of losing another job and is expressing suicidal ideation, but has agreed to a "no harm" contract.
