Cohesion and Emphasis Practice Exercises

Read the complete instructions to the practice exercises

  • Before completing any exercises, print out the Exercise Scoring Sheet so that you can record your progress as you do the exercises as well as any problems you encounter.
  • Also print out the Log Details sheet so that you can record some information about your each exercise session as well as get instructions about how to make a screen shot of the final score screen in each exercise.
  • After you complete 10 questions in each exercise, you will receive a score telling you what percent of the 10 questions you got correct.

    • If you score 80% or higher, move on to the next exercise by selecting the next exercise in a given set of exercises.
    • If you score less than 80%, review the online grammar materials or the class texts, and then repeat the exercise.
  • Each exercise should take about 20 minutes.
  • After you have completed all the exercises, remember that you can go back to them for extra practice!
  • When you're done with an exercise, close the exercise window and go back and do more exercises or read further explanations in the Web-based Learning site.
