GO-MAP

  • The Graduate Opportunities and Minority Achievement Program, or GO-MAP, has been an integral part of the University of Washington for more than 30 years, taking very seriously efforts to establish and maintain campus, local, national, and international networks for students in the program. Staff members work closely with faculty, staff, and graduate students currently on campus to enhance academic and funding opportunities and to encourage scholarship and research that explores and supports cultural diversity.

The Ethnic Cultural Center

  • the ECC/T has been termed "a home away from home" by many of the UW student users. The new and improved facilities continue to support its primary purpose to create a vibrant and positive campus climate that allows the students the opportunity to maximize their educational and student life experience. The ECC/T has been successful in coordinating and developing programs that educate students on how to navigate the University and its resources; encourage active participation in leadership development; participation in ASUW, Student Senate and other student leadership opportunities; and other opportunities to participate in various cultural organizations, campus and community events/programs.

ADVANCE

  • Increasing the Participation and Advancement of Women in Academic Science and Engineering Careers. The University of Washington envisions a campus in which all science, engineering, and mathematics (SEM) departments are thriving, all faculty are properly mentored, and every SEM faculty member is achieving his or her maximum potential. UW believes that cultural changes that are designed to help underrepresented groups invariably help all groups and improve the environment for everyone. The programs proposed here fall into that category. The University is designing the programs with women SEM faculty in mind, but plans to offer the programs for all faculty after they are piloted and improved.

Office of Minority Affairs

  • The Office of Minority Affairs offers a family of services that assist UW students from freshman year to graduate school, nourishing passion for knowledge and opening doors of opportunity and exciting research. Services include: academic support programs, financial aid counseling and opportunities, social and cultural activities
