Our Mission Making Connections is a high school outreach program offered through the University of Washington Women’s Center. Making Connections provides strategies and skills training to help high school students succeed, prepare for higher education, and explore careers in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. This program supports underrepresented and first generation students through the college admissions process. Our goal isTo bridge the divide of underrepresented populations in higher education and STEM fields. Each year Making Connection serves over 100 students from grades 9-12 in the Seattle public schools. |
Student of The Year Goals: “In 5 years, I will be applying to med-school.” “My family is my inspiration, the most influential people in my life are my parents. They are my backbone; through the good times and bad times they are the ones who I can be happy around and cry if I have to.” |
