Kelly O’Boyle
Mentor of the Year, 2010
Making Connections Program

The Making Connections program has been a wonderful program to be involved with the past several years. I have been delighted to get to know Mahlet and Neelofer the past couple years and watch both grow remarkably as individuals as they finished their high school careers. I have always been told that mentors gain as much from the mentoring relationship as the mentees. This was my first experience where I have had the opportunity to be the mentor in a formal mentoring relationship. Mahlet and Neelofer have been an inspiration to me. Both young women are driven, motivated, and passionate. I am certain both ladies will be successful at their respective universities, and I look forward to hearing about their accomplishments for years to come. I am pleased to continue to volunteer with Making Connections as a mentor and watch other young ladies find their potential.

Kelly O’Boyle is a Flight Test Liaison Engineer at the Boeing Company. She grew up in the Chicago Suburbs and moved to Seattle after finishing her undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
