Kristen is has come back to the MC program after taking a few years off and we couldn’t be more excited to have her back! As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager on the 787 Commercial Airplanes Program at the Boeing Company, she is responsible for identifying process gaps and requirements, and leading teams to formulate solutions and optimize efficiency. Kristen received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 2006 from Northern Arizona University and a M.S. in Engineering Management from Missouri Science & Technology in 2011. Her hobbies include scrapbooking, traveling, hiking, beach volleyball, cooking, and spending time with her family. She enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband and dog.
Kristen believes mentoring provides students with a look into the working-life of professionals that they will not get anywhere else. She likes being able to answer the questions that students have about her job and life, so that they know what is out there and available to them.
“These girls can do anything they set their mind to, and I love spending time with them and helping them realize the possibilities they are capable of.”
Senayet is a Making Connections graduate (Garfield ’02…Go Bulldogs!), and has made her way full circle to becoming one of our hardest working mentors. She went to the University of Washington for her undergraduate and graduate education, receiving a degree in physical therapy. Her in depth understanding of the Making Connections program and her dedication to making a difference has allowed Senayet to mentor multiple students, as well as, becoming one of our trusted advisory voices on how to continue to make improvements to this program.
We honor and appreciate all the hard work our mentors put towards making this program so successful. Beyond that, we also see how they’ve contributed to making an important difference in the lives of the people they help. We applaud these amazing people and are thankful for their efforts!
