Current ecogeographic collections include Mediterranean, Sino-Himalayan, Chilean, and New Zealand plants. The particular plants that are selected for Seattle's climate are determined by degree of cold hardiness and rainfall requirements. Seattle's rather unique climate of mild wet winters and dry summers is duplicated in very few places around the world.
