Announcing New Leadership

Please join us in welcoming

Tom Wolford
Executive Director

We are delighted that Tom Wolford will join the Foundation on July 1 as Executive Director following John’s retirement. Tom brings exceptional experience (Graphic Packaging International – most recent; previously VP Technology for Georgia-Pacific, then James River, Crown Zellerbach and Dow Chemical). Tom earned his PhD at UC, Davis. We know Tom well; he is a former President of the Foundation and served in the officer positions.

Joy Louie
Administrative Assistant

Joy joined the Foundation on April 3 as Administrative Assistant following Heather’s decision to be at home with her new son. Joy comes to us from Bioengineering at UW where she was Undergraduate Program Coordinator. Previously she was senior technical writer for IBM, then senior secretary at Harvard Medical School. Joy earned a BA in English (Tufts University) and a Masters in teaching English as a second language.

New Foundation Member

Scholarships offered through the WPPF make an enormous difference to students, says Aaron Saks, PSE senior, TAPPI Student Chapter President, Alumni Scholar and Anson Moody scholar. In some cases these scholarships make the UW education possible. We are also grateful for the interest in our educations and futures that are shown through these scholarship funds.

Aaron Saks, Alumni Scholar
