WRCCRF 12-ha Plot and Tree Data

The WRCCRF 12-ha permanent plot was fully established in 1999 measuring 400 m x 300 m and consisting of
25 m x 25 m square subplots the corners of which have iron bars and caps with corner number.
The canopy crane is located in the north-eastern section often referred to as the "crane plot."
Maximum reach of the crane is approximately 85 m which defines the "crane circle."
Topography is on the gentle (< 10% slope) southeastern foot of Trout Creek Hill a shield volcano (792 m elev.).

Tree Data
Two data files are currently available for the 12-ha permanent plot: basic tree data (WRCCRF12hatreedata.csv) and tree heights (WRCCRF12hatreeht.csv).
Before accessing these data, please send an e-mail message to the WRCCRF which includes your full name and title, e-mail address, institution etc., and
a brief summary of proposed usage for these data. As a matter of professional courtesy please acknowledge the WRCCRF data archive when using data
in any publication or presentation in any format.

LOCATION: WRCCRF12ha the complete 12-ha plot
TAG: all trees > = 5 cm diameter at 1.3 m above forest floor are tagged with a unique ID number
YEAR: Gregorian year of data collection

DBH: diameter in centimeters at breast height (1.3 m above forest floor). If tree is forked above DBH then it's counted as one stem
if forked below DBH then each fork > = 5 cm DBH is counted as a separate stem
X: easting distance in meters from plot origin
Y: northing distance in meters from plot origin
Z: elevation at tree base (note: elevation at crane base is approximately 371 m)

File name: WRCCRF12hatreeht.csv
Measured and estimate live tree heights as of 1997

YEAR: Gregorian year of data collection
TAG: trees > = 5 cm diameter at 1.3 m above forest floor are tagged with a unique ID number
HEIGHT: cosign-corrected tree height in meters from forest floor to apparent stem apex measured via ground-based laser or height stick
Tree with tag number greater that 4000 were estimated using a logistic function incorporating DBH and HT of trees with tag numbers less than 4000
