(2002 Herbarium Foray to the Wallowa  Mountains, Oregon)

Herbarium faculty, staff, Research Associates, Visiting Scholars and graduate students participate in a wide variety of laboratory and field research (see links in sidebar).

Noteworthy field activities include the Herbarium Forays, annual plant-collecting trips to Pacific Northwest areas that are either botanically-rich or underrepresented in our collections.  Former Collections Manager Sarah Gage and UW Botany students collected vascular plants and lichens as part of the International Kuril Island Project from 1995-2001.  Recent projects include botanical inventories for the City of Seattle's Cedar River Watershed (2001-2002) the North Cascades National Park (2002- 2003), The Nature Conservancy (2003), and the International Sakhalin Island Project (2003).
