Jim Lutz is the Principal Investigator for the Yosemite Forest Dynamics Plot. His interests are in the rates and causes of mortality, as well as the effects of climate and fire on forest demography. Jim is Research Scientist (Principal) at the University of Washington College of the Environment.

Andrew Larson is a Principal Investigator for the Yosemite Forest Dynamics Plot. His interests include long-term change in forest ecosystems, especially as related to natural disturbance and forest structural development. He is particularly interested in the use of ecological theory to establish forest restoration targets and guide restoration treatment design. Andrew is Assistant Professor of Forest Ecology at the University of Montana College of Forestry and Conservation.

Mark Swanson is a Co-Investigator for the Yosemite Forest Dynamics Plot. His interests include developmental processes of natural forest stands, forest carbon, understory vegetation, and early-successional habitats. Mark is Assistant Professor at Washington State University.

James Freund is an investigator for the Yosemite Forest Dynamics Plot. His interests include forest community dynamics, especially as related to old-growth forests and large individual trees on the Pacific Slope of North America. James is a PhD candidate at the University of Washington College of the Environment.

Van Kane is the remote sensing specialist for the Yosemite Forest Dynamics Plot. His interests are in the structural heterogeneity and development of forests, including using LiDAR and passive sensors to infer vegetation structure and structural change. Van is a post-doctoral associate at the University of Washington College of the Environment.
