Ansley Barnard is originally from Reno, NV and moved to Seattle to study Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering at the University of Washington. She serves as Vice President of Emerging Leaders in Engineering, a leadership committee that focuses on outreach and strengthening the engineering community on campus. She currently works at the Kirsten Wind Tunnel and is a mentor for incoming freshman to the UW Honors College.
Ansley is focusing on studying structures and was a research intern in the Structural Mechanics and Concepts Branch at NASA Langley Research Center the past two summers. She hopes to do structural work in the developing private space industry and plans to apply for the US astronaut program in the future.
