UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON
International AIDS Research and Training Program
The International AIDS Research and Training Program was founded in 1988 with the goal of fostering international collaborative AIDS research through scientist exchange. The program is geared primarily to training of foreign scientists with the following specific goals:
The University of Washington has established collaborative AIDS research projects with institutions in Kenya, Mozambique, Peru, and Thailand. The IARTP only funds candidates from these countries, with preference given to those who are directly affiliated with the collaborative research programs involving University of Washington investigators.
The IARTP is funded by the Fogarty International Center, National Institutes of Health.
