Jonathan Himmelfarb heads new Kidney Research Institute
The Division of Nephrology and Northwest Kidney Centers have established a new clinical and translational research partnership to address the growing prevalence of chronic kidney disease around the world. The Kidney Research Institute is dedicated to developing new tools for prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment of kidney disease. Dr. Jonathan Himmelfarb is its first scientific director.

Gardner, Rheumatology; Dr. Jonathan Himmelfarb, Nephrology; and Dr. Robert H. Knopp, Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition.

Ken Steinberg is new residency director
Dr. Kenneth P. Steinberg, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, is the new director of the Medicine Residency Program, succeeding Dr. James F. Wallace, who directed the program for 30 years.
