1. Call to Order and Approval of Agenda. 2. Memorial Resolution. 3. Report of the PresidentPresident Richard L. McCormick. 4. Legislative ReportProfessor JoAnn Taricani, Faculty Legislative Representative. 5. Report from the Senate Committee on Planning and BudgetingProfessor Theodore Kaltsounis, Chair. 6. Nominations and Appointments. 7. Class A Legislation-Second Consideration Part-time Faculty Appointments. Volume Two, Part II, Chapters 21, 24, and 25 Legislation changes various sections of the Faculty Code dealing with tenure rights of part-time faculty. Action: Final review of proposal to submit this legislation amending the Faculty Code to the faculty for approval or rejection. 8. Class B Action* Nancy Kenney, Chair, Faculty Council on Academic Standards. Satisfactory/Non-Satisfactory (S/NS) Policy Volume Four, Part III, Chapter 11, Section 1.A.6 Would amend the Handbook to revise the restrictions and policies related to the Satisfactory/Non-Satisfactory grading option. Action: Conduct review of proposed legislation amending the University Handbook; approve or disapprove transmittal of legislation to Senate. 9. Report and discussion on President's intention to invoke the Alternative Salary Policy. 10. Summary of other Executive Committee Actions: Approved minutes of the Feb. 23, 1998 Executive Committee meeting and the March 12, 1998 Faculty Senate meeting; heard reports from the President, the Faculty Legislative Representative, the chair of the Senate Committee on Planning and Budgeting, and from the chairs of the Faculty Council on Educational Outreach and the Academic Advisory Committee on Facilities. Rescheduled the Executive Committee meeting for nominations from May 4 to April 27. Approved the Executive Committee and Senate meeting calendar for 1998-99. 11. Announcements. 12. Requests for information. Senators are encouraged to submit requests for information in writing to the Senate Chair prior to meetings. The appropriate persons will provide responses. 13. New Business. Motions involving Class C Actions should be available in written form for distribution at the meeting. ¶
